Problem in Oracle University CertView Authentication

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
Hi All,

I have created my Pearson VUE account couple of weeks back. I used that Pearson VUE account to take the Oracle Certified Associate Java 8 exam in a local pearson Vue center. So, as soon as I paid $150, I received an email to confirm the exam. after that, I have created an account in oracle and I tried to enter the Oracle Exam ID and my email address to validate. I have tried all 3 times and now i don't have any options to do. Please note that I haven't faced the exam yet. It is scheduled on next week

1) Created my Pearson VUE account (2 week back)
2) Purchased the exam voucher
3) Received an email to confirm the exam in oracle.
4) Created an Oracle account.
5) Trying to confirm the exam. (BUT FAILED)

First try : as soon as I created my oracle account.
Second try : after about 10 minutes
Third try : after 1 hour

I don't have much time for my exam. I have scheduled it on 9th February 2016.
Please help me. I have no experience over doing any online oracle exams before.

Thanks & Regards,
Jude

I assume you had already carefully read these recommendations from the Oracle FAQ. Because you have created your Pearson VUE account 2 weeks ago, the last item in that list definitely doesn't apply as it suggested to wait at least 1 hour but you have waited 2 weeks

It's a long time since I created (or connected) my CertView account, so not familiar with the process. But if I understand correctly, you were able to create a Pearson VUE account and you have also created an Oracle account successfully. But authenticating the CertView account using your Oracle ID and e-mail address fails. Correct? You should definitely contact the Oracle Certification Program (OCP) Team using the OCP Support Form. Normally the OCP Team responds rather quickly (within 1-2 business days). To access the OCP Support Form you are required to login with your Oracle account.

Hope it helps!
Kind regards,
Roel

And if you have a Twitter account, you could send @OracleCert a tweet as well.

Should I want be to able to access to my CertView profile before I take the exam? If not my exam will be invalid?

I don't think that's required. You have created a Pearson VUE account and scheduled an exam. You've got an Oracle Testing ID and provided your personal details. So if you go the test center, you'll have to identify yourself by presenting two forms of accepted ID (at least one with a photograph). If everything is ok, you'll be able to take the exam.
You have created an Oracle account as well which you can use to e.g. purchase an Oracle training. The CertView is the application to view all Oracle certification related information. Instead of having to create another account especially for this application, you can use your Oracle account and benefit from single sign-on But in order to make that work, they have to make sure that you don't try to impersonate someone else. That's why you have to provide this information as you are probably the only one who knows your Oracle Testing ID and the email address you have used while registering your Pearson VUE account.
In your case this last step fails for some strange/weird reason. But it won't prevent you from taking the exam or it won't make your result invalid. For Pearson VUE your unique identifier is your Oracle Testing ID, so your exam result will be linked with your Oracle Testing ID. The only drawback if CertView isn't linked before you take the exam: you will not know if you have passed or failed the exam Normally you'll get an email within 30 minutes after finishing the exam to inform you your score is available through CertView.

In the meantime you have passed the OCAJP8 exam. So an update on this topic might be useful for other ranchers who have a similar issue with the CertView application. Was this issue resolved before taking the exam? Or did you encounter some issues before and/or after taking the exam?

Hi all,

Me too faced the same problem of authentication to CertView account. Yesterday at around 9 PM I ended up using all three attempts for login to CertView( but failed to authenticate ). Tried to login on today morning but was error message. When I checked my oracle account information, it was my email that I used to create oracle account yet to be confirmed(Not Verified). Thought this might be the root of issue and then verified my mail with oracle & it actually worked for me within an hour.. I can now access my CertView. Don't know if it could actually be cause or I'm dumb enough to think this way.

Hi All,

I also had a same problem for long time, I couldn't able to login to the Certview site with my credential. As per Oracle Certification Program you need to have same information in Pearson VUE site and Oracle account profile otherwise they don't sync automatically. I copied the same information to both accounts and report a problem to OCP team regarding my issue. Within 2 business days I got the response from OCP to check the Certview account. Now it is working and it contains my history certification information as well. So better you report your issue to OCP team and wait for there response.

Hi guys.

I've recently purchased OCA/OCP Java SE7 Associate exam voucher from Pearson vue and received and email which asked me to authenticate the certview account.

The email ID with which I registered to Pearson is: "chillappagarishashikanth@gmail.com"

I already had an Oracle account with the above mentioned email ID but was unable to login to. Tried sending username & password reset links. Never received any. Hence created a new Oracle account with "chillappagarishashikanth317@gmail.com". Now I went to the Certview page and tried authenticating it.

In the first attempt I used email as "chillappagarishashikanth@gmail.com". This did not worked. But it was mentioned in email received by Pearson vue to enter the email that is associated with the Pearson vue profile. So I thought that email mentioned in Pearson vue profile and that of Oracle account need not be same and tried with same email in the second attempt and failed again.

After this, I went to the Pearson vue profile and changed the email id from "chillappagarishashikanth@gmail.com" to "chillappagarishashikanth317@gmail.com". Waited for 5 hours and then tried the 3rd attempt with the updated in email. This time the email in Pearson vue profile and that of Oracle account is same. Still the third attempt failed too.

Now the Oracle website says, the team would manually verify the accounts and get back to me within 3 days. I'm writing this on night of Friday, August 25th.

What should I do now? I am loss. Should I wait for their verification result or cancel the exam as of now? If I do not cancel the exam within 24 hrs, I'm gonna loose the exam fee which is really costly in my country. Please help me out guys.

Hi Shashikanth,

Changing the email ids don't matter but you should have same in both PearsonVUE and CertView accounts. Because I also had the same problem and it get resolved after contacting the support team. If you don't have any exam history you can use your newly created CertView account. Else try to have same information in your old CertView and PearsonVUE accounts and contact OCP Team for help. They will connect both of them and let you to login to the old account.

Hi all,
I have already try authentication for 3 times but it failed. So oracle website is saying that " If you have 3 failed attempts to authorize your account, it will need to be processed manually by our services team" .
Do i need to contact oracle support team for authentication?
Will it be done by them automatically??

Hi,

Please contact OCP team after updating same information(including emailId) in both accounts.
