Hello, all:
I have recently, partially-converted an application to JavaFX. That is, I moved the code into a newly-created NetBeans application, and I have migrated its Java3D code to JavaFX's scene builder. I did this partly to get away from the Java3D technology, which has been steadily losing mindshare and support for years, now. But also, I want to leverage the GUI features of JavaFX. (The NetBeans part is for other reasons)

When I was learning Swing (and it still exists somewhere), I used to see these GUI tour applications. They would show all the various things Swing widgets could do. They were from Sun (sold to Oracle), and you could see things like graphic-decorated buttons; examples of all the Layout Managers; what can happen with a JText* widget, etc.

Now, I would like to see something like that in JavaFX. I do not want to see this implemented as FXML, because I do not work with that (I do not even know if this is still supported), so I guess you could call it JavaFX-2? Either way, if anyone knows of a good overview of that type, please let me know.

I have found this. This is a video of someone who has done some interesting JavaFX applications, and is showing how they work, and some of the code too. I think this is good, but ideally, I would like to see a complete (if gaudy and distasteful) overview of gadgets / widgets / effects, in JavaFx.

Thanks, and enjoy.

The JDK8 demos package includes a JavaFX8 demo application called "Ensemble". It demonstrates many of JavaFX's widgets and 2D/3D capabilities.
