I am in the process of upgrading IBM HTTP 7.0.0.7 to IBM HTTP 8.5.5. This is the first time, i am gng to try this.

I have googled a lot to get an idea on how to proceed on this. Basically we have a IBM HTTP server 7.0.0.7 in front end and IBM WAS 7 as back end.

In one of the below link, they have explained about migration but have many doubts

https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSYJ99_8.5.0/migrate/mig_webserver_configs.dita

my doubts are

1. If I upgrade IBM HTTP server, should I also upgrade WAS version

should I upgrade IBM HTTP server by installing a new IBM HTTP server 8.5.5 in another folder and configuring the partitions or install in the same path?

can someone share your previous experiences in upgrading the HTTP server
