Help needed for text/copy on New Code ranch homepage

Hi Everyone,

So the new Code Ranch homepage is almost complete. However before it can go live I need your help with something.

I need some copy/text that I can put in the "about our forums" category boxes.

Please see attached screen grab.

There are 12 categories in total and I need a maximum of 35 words that details what kind of discussions and information can be found in each category on the forum.

The different categories are:
Java, Books, mobile, Caching, Database, certification, engineering, framework, careers, products, languages, other

Please let me know if you can help.

Can you give an example of one. It doesn't need to be technical. Knowing the format you are looking for is helpful. For example, you could write 35 words about trees.

For example, is this what you are looking for?
Database - JDBC, ORM, NoSQL, Big Data and more. Discuss database tuning and design as well.

Hi Jeanne, thanks for this, yes your example is exactly the kind of copy I was hoping for.

Perhaps a little lead into the category so for database:

Thanks. That's what I was wondering. How Englishy. Here are a few. I tried to use different styles so you can see what works best. And also to give others more examples to draw from as I don't wish to write all twelve.

In the database forum, you'll find topics covering JDBC, ORM, NoSQL, Big Data and much more. We discuss SQL tuning and database design as well.

The certification forum includes Java exams including OCA, OCP, OCMJEA and non-Java including TOGAF. You'll find study tips and resources. Discussions include clarification of concepts, errors in books/mock exams and exam taking strategies.

In the career forum, you'll find job discussions and career advice. Typical questions include how to handle a work scenario or how to handle alternate career paths. Companies also post available jobs.

The books forum contains discussion of books and lots of book reviews. You can even contribute your own book review. We even stick in software reviews and upcoming events.

Thanks Ritchie, could we beef this one out a bit more, does the forum talk about the different operating systems iOS v's Android, or how to pull in API's, build mobile app's and get store approval etc. The more mobile keywords we can have the better for SEO.

Products

Tomcat, Glassfish, Websphere, other products, and even open source projects: these are the forums to find out how to deal with all the products and projects that we all use and love (and sometimes hate).
