Hi All,

I am about to develop a web app that has very basic requirement of login and manipulating some data and displaying reports on dashboard etc.
This could easily be build over using only servlets , or struts , or spring like framework .
Though i have not used spring much but i am aware of it . Basically these web frameworks could be categories into either single controller like struts 2.0 or springs mvc , or multiple controller like using servlets for each module .
That way my app will have a separate servlet for each module.
Where i am confused its which framework will make my app more scalable ?
If i am not wrong number of simultaneous request handled by web server is independent of which ever framework is being used.
Say if web server where app is hosted can handle 500 web request at a time .. then irrespective of whether app has single controller or multiple controller , it won't affect number of request to be handled by web server .
So as per my understanding i can go ahead using any web mvc framework . AM i correct in my understanding ?

Thanks in advance .

Indeed, just about any framework allows you to create a scalable web app, just like any framework allows you to create one that doesn't scale.

As far as the choice of frameworks goes, Stripes hits the sweet spot for me by doing what I want a web framework to do, and not doing what I don't want it to do, while being easy to use. But that is obviously a personal preference, and the choice depends on many factors.

Well, Does use of single vs multi controller make any effect on requesting handling capacity of a web app ? Is it like if app uses multiple controller it creates more load on web server than routing requesting through a single controller like DispatcherServlet in spring mvc ?

Thanks

Each framework (and the servlet implementation itself, if no framework is used) will have a single entry point through which all requests are routed, but that would be implemented so that it doesn't become a bottleneck. So I wouldn't worry about that.
