Hello everyone,

I've Passed OCP Java SE 8 Upgrade Exam (1Z0-813) today with 91%.

I've used the following material to prepare the exam:
  • OCP Java SE 8 Programmer II Study Guide: Exam 1Z0-809 by Jeanne Boyarsky and Scott Selikoff -> Good work guys, it helps a lot
  • Enthuware testing materia -> A must if you want to train yourself
  • API Javadocs of JDK 8

  • I started reading the full book just to refresh old concepts and learn the new ones. Before starting a chapter I always checked the errata table :p http://www.selikoff.net/java-ocp-8-programmer-ii-study-guide/
After that, I started the training with the Enthuware material following always the same workflow:
  • Perform a test
  • Check the answers with the book and checking the API for complete documentation.
  • Play a bit with the IDE to test similar posibilities

  • The important think was to understand the explanation of all the answers, the bad ones and the good ones. I did all the questions of the enthuware material.

60% of the exam was about Lambdas and Streams, not a surprise.
    CyclicBarrier was there.
    Daylight saving was there.
Instant.truncateTo() was there, I never tried that method while I was studying.
    ForkJoinPool
Files.find() was there, Enthuware people, more questions on this topic would be helpful.
    FileVisitor was there.
    Etc

Good luck to everyone, is not an easy exam.

Congrats Rossyafk! Haven't heard too much feedback from those taking the Java 6 upgrade exam yet, so that's wonderful news! It'd help us out if you could write a review on Amazon. As someone who took the upgrade exam, your feedback is helpful!
