Hi there

I`m new here, found this place through the book. (OCA Java SE 8 Programmer I, Study Guide, Sybex). I am preparing for OCA/OCP 8 exams. Right now I`m at the end of chapter 4 from the first book.
Because I`m in a kind of a hurry I like to make them as soon as possible. Just subscribed for OCA in 2 weeks

My question is: Will the passing score be visible in CertView? In case I put a link into my CV (or LinkedIn), will the watching person see my passing score or just that I passed successfully? (Failed exams wont be there, will they?)

Thanks
Jorma

Jorma,
Cert view has multiple parts. There's a part that only you see. That part has your score and the passing cutoff. It also has any failed exams. That's ok though because nobody else can see it.

Then there's the part where you share your score. You can click to get a link to send to someone so they can validate that you hold the cert. It's password protected and the password lasts 5 days. On that, it just has your name, your cert name and the date you passed. No score is shown.

Oracle's intent is that the exam be considered pass/fail.

Here you'll find all info about Oracle's candidate certification portal CertView.

And since half a year, Oracle has a deal with Acclaim as well, so you can Display Your Oracle Certification Badge. From Oracle University:
Oracle University wrote:Your Oracle Certification credentials are now available as a digital badge that represents the qualifications you have earned. You can now share verified proof of your achievement wherever and whenever you choose.
Promote, verify, and communicate your credentials and achievements in an ever expanding digital marketplace. We have partnered with Acclaim to provide a new badging platform backed by Pearson VUE.
Digital badges communicate your certification achievements.
- a web-enabled version of your credential
- easy-to-use digital badge images for displaying your qualifications on social media sites, networking sites and in email
- easy, valid verification of your credentials
- a place to manage your badges
- a secure means of storing and publishing your credential
- the ability to combine your credentials to form a complete overview of your skills

Expect an email from Acclaim in the coming weeks. Follow the instructions, to claim your badge and begin displaying your verifiable credentials.
If you hold a retired 10g credential, the badge you receive will indicate that it is retired. Candidates who hold this version certification are required to upgrade to a current version of the credential by March 1, 2016 to earn an active database badge
Oracle Certification hopes you enjoy the convenience and recognition this new offering brings.

Best Regards,
The Oracle Certification Team

Here you find what Acclaim is all about. I connected my LinkedIn profile to my Acclaim profile. And my OCAJP7 badge was automatically added to the Certifications section of my LinkedIn profile. And when you click on the accompanied link you get all information about who issused this achievement, when it was achieved, what you have to do to get this badge,... As you can see no score is shown here as well.

Hope it helps!
Kind regards,
Roel
