Hi All,
I am preparing the Component diagram for OCMJEA part-2 exam, using starUML tool version 2.6. I am finding that it is creating the components in UML 1 version, and not UML 2 version. How do I create the component diagram according to UML 2 version in starUML? Any guidance would helpful.

Welcome to the Ranch

This question was asked before here

Have you consult the StarUML docs? I didn't use StarUML when I did mine, but the website says it supports UML2. Maybe need a plugin or extension?

Hi Tsang,
Thanks for your fast response.
I went through the starUML documentation in this regard. I did not find any information about it. No extension available for UML 2.x specs.

I have another question in this regard. In the problem statement document, Oracle did not mention the UML version for the diagrams. I would like to understand whether I can submit the diagram as per UML 1.x version? Will it be accepted? Are there any persons who submitted diagrams in UML 1.x version recently and passed? Can you please let me know any information you have about it?

In regarding UML version, the assignment indeed doesn't say what version specifically just say "UML compliant".

As you may know the UML1.x and UML2.x notation is different at least for "component". There is always a way to make it look version independent (hint sterotype)

I had mailed this question to the support team of starUML. Today I got a response with details from Minkyu Lee from their support team.
Apparently, this feature already exists- though not very direct. I am documenting it here for the benefit of starUML users who might also be facing the same concern.
Procedure:
Right click on a component to show context menu, and then select the menu Format > Stereotype Display > Decoration with Label
