what is the actual purpose of normalize() in DOM Java parser? please help me by an example

I think it's worth pointing out that the normalize() method isn't a feature of any parser. There's an XML parser which can produce an internal data structure called "DOM", and there are methods you can use to extract data from that DOM and also manipulate the data structure. The normalize() method belongs to the latter group.
