OpenStack in Action: OpenStack (IaaS) or Cloud Foundary (PaaS)

Hi Cody,

I am fairly new to both areas. By profession I would say I am more towards Architecture and Coding for monalithic applications than System Administration. Both Openstack and Cloud Foundary are hot topics these days and I want get my feats wet with one. But not sure which to select? I know it is difficult to give a straight answer to this type of question. Can you give some hints?

In all seriousness the overlap of OpenStack in Cloud Foundry is mostly on the application orchestration layer. So why not learn OpenStack, at least enough to provide underly infrastructure, at use it to host a Cloud Foundry instance [1]. This way you can work with both and you have the added benefit of two application orchestration platforms.
