I am a newbie and got thrown into the wolf pack with a problem. I have a java program that loads a shared library and it works great. When the shared library executes another applicatons ( non-java), it aborts). If I execute the shared library by C and the shared library executes another program, it works. I read that if I execute a java program and it creates a process ( loadlibrary) , the process that was created can not create another process ( shared library call another third party application).

Do I need to use processbuilder to successfully execute a java class, which does a system call ( loadlibrary) which calls another program?

thanks
