Hi,

I received a private message with instructions on how to confirm the copy of the book I won in the Openstack book promotion, (Thank you again, so excited about this!). I sent out an email using the guidelines specified in the private message but I haven't received a confirmation email back.
I guess my question is, did the goat get my email?!

Thanks,
Peter

Looking into this ....

So you sent in your address about two days ago? And you want the person that processes the emails to .... confirm that they received your information?

Paul, that's correct.
Book Promo Message to Winners wrote:
As noted in the Book Promotion Eligibility Requirements and Legal type stuff, the winners have 8 days to submit their information. Within 3 days of receipt of your email, we will reply to let you know we got it. If you don't hear back, the goat might have eaten your email. Please let us know by posting in the Ranch Office so we can check on it. Once you have received your copy please let us know by editing the Book Promotions Winners Page and updating the 'Status' column to say you have it.

In this case I think the goat is up to his old tricks again. Can you double check the email address that you sent your information to and resend if necessary? Otherwise, PM your details to me and I'll be sure they're included when we contact the publisher.

Thanks Tim Thanks Paul,

Yea sometimes my primary email ends up in the spam box I've noticed. I've resent my submission using an alternate email. I'll also send you a PM just incase.

Thanks,
Peter

A reasonable request! The reason we have the bit about the goat eating emails in case it went to spam, got lost, etc. That way we know about the problem BEFORE sending in the winner info. We give ourselves three days in case the book promo team is busy. In this case, the third day wouldn't have helped because we never got the original email.
