Hello All,

I am looking for some scenario based practical questions to prepare for the interview. I have been using JDBC/SQL for sometime but when it comes to IQ I kinda get confused. Ex: Retrieving 5000 rows at once or 1000 rows at a time which is more preferable?

I think I can use some experience here.

Thanks
Mansi

5000 rows and 1000 rows is no difference. When you're talking Million(s) or a thousand(s), then you have a scaling of advantage there. So your options would be wait on query finishing or return blocks as they are ready. Some of that will depend on your query--if you are asking to sort, then you are going to have to wait until the query completes. Also do you know the indexes on the DB, if it's not indexed and you are doing table scans there may be a huge time difference, so return data blocks as it can is best.
