I recently took the test and I had a little bit of advice for everyone who is taking the test. I used two resources books and testing software.
The books I read:
OCA: Oracle Certified Associate Java SE 8 Programmer I Study Guide: Exam 1Z0-808
OCA Java SE 8 Programmer I Study Guide (Exam 1Z0-808), 3rd Edition
The first book I listed was extremely helpful and really gave me a good idea of all the concepts. I then went and took 2 enthuware tests to see how much I learned from the book. I averaged 60% on the two tests. Then I read the second book and this really cemented all the ideas in my mind. I still only got aa 66% on an enthuware test. I decided not to do all the enthuware tests at this point and did some Kaplan tests. Kaplan was MUCH easier then enthuware and much more similar to the real test. Enthuware has more questions about small things while the real test and Kaplan focus on broader concepts. So if you have a good idea about the topics you will do fine. I prepared in 2 very rigorous weeks and did well. I am new to Java so this formula should work well for more experienced individuals.
