Hello,
I'm wondering if I have to study jsp as well as servelets. I think jsp can do anything a servlet can do i.e jsp is servlet itself.
However in some other thread I've read that jsp and servlet are complimentary modules.
So being a begginer do I have to learn servlet or can i skip it ?

Thanks

Bad, bad, bad, bad, bad idea. JSP should be used for views only.

Please read this article.

This is correct.

If you want to write Java web applications, servlets are a must.

Thanks.. I was reading the same article just before you suggested it. Seems I was in right path.

I didn't wanted to make the same mistake as with awt and swing .. so was confirming.
Thanks for clarification.
