Hi,
I (and thousands of others) have been benefited tremendously by the discussion sections on this site. Specifically in my case, I recently achieved OCMJEA 6 (SCEA) certification, with considerable guidance and information from the OCMJEA section on this site.
Now, I am planning to start my study for the SOA certification by SOA school/ Arcitura soon. I searched internet for any similar discussion/study forums for the SOA school certifications. I did not find any. I found some old posts on this site for SOA school certification exams, but they were posted in the 'Product and Other Certifications' section on this site. Can we have a dedicated section for the SOA certification on this site? I provide the following information in this regard:
1. At present, there are no dedicated discussion/study forums for SOA certifications by soaschool. But there are many people taking these exams, and I am sure they are searching for informative discussions on internet - just like I did. When people search on internet for SOA certifications, if they see find a discussion section on this site for it, they will definitely be attracted to coderanch as it would be the only one existing at least for now.
2. SOA certification by SOAschool is vendor neutral, and many people are opting for it over vendor specific certifications such as IBM or Oracle. There is an international acceptance for the soaschool certifications.
3. We can also include SOA certifications by other institutions/companies in this as well, based on consensus and need.
4. The number of people who opt for SOA certifications will keep increasing - may not be as high as Java. Having a dedicated forum encourages people to share their experiences and ask questions.
5. As of now, people who passed the SOAschool certifications are writing their experiences in blog sites and all this information is not centralized. Thus, it is not available to exam candidates in a centralized and properly organized manner. Also, it is difficult to ask questions and get responses on those blogs. If we provide a forum for them, the are encouraged to use it and it will grow.

Please let me know what you feel about this topic. I am open to other ideas and opinions.

It is okay by me. It seems we would need one of the staff to create the forum and move some threads to it.
