I have a SOAP based webservice that returns huge data meaning thousands of records. I have a UI page develped in JSP. When I load the data the page is freezing and some times taking lot of time to load.
I do not own the webservice and I don't have any control to change the implementation. With out changing the webservice implementation, is there a way I can call the existing Webservice that can return the data in chunks. For example, I would call fist and I should get around first 100 records, next if I call it should give me 100 - 200 records so on...Any thing I can do at client side to have this design with out changing at webservice side ? Thanks you for your help and ideas or suggestions. - Mike

What you need to do is pagination. You cannot control what the Webservice delivers to you. You have to get all the messages in your backend, use some pagination techniques to render the content in your JSP!
