Hi All,
Could you please share the review feedback on the Oracle training - 'Object-Oriented Analysis and Design Using UML'?
Mostly along the following points:
1. How useful is the content of this training?
2. How easy is it to understand/follow through in the course?
3. Format - which is better - TOD or LVC?
If anyone has attended this training or bought self sudy material, can you please share the detailed feedback? I am posting this query on the forum so that everybody can get benefited by the answers.
Thanks in advance.
Didn't take the OOAD course but didn't you already completed all parts of the OCJMEA?
Anyway from the course page, I believe it teaches UML 1.4 rather than 2.0, despite the course description say so.
Depends on what you really want to get out of it, usefulness and following/doing all exercises is something you need to consider.
Lastly TOD is bunch of videos I believe you can repeat watching during the time period, whereas LVC is really like a virtual instructor pre-recorded or not talking. FYI I didn't do/experience either format.
I completed all 3 exams for OCMJEA certification, but my mandatory training is pending. I need to complete this to apply for the certificate.
I initially thought of taking the training 'Java EE 7 new features'. That is the one having the least cost. But then, it has got a required pre-requisite training 'Java SE 7 Programming'. That in turn has another required pre-requisite training 'Java SE 7 Fundamentals'. I am not sure how strictly Oracle enforces attending the required pre-requisite training 'Java SE 7 Programming' to attend the training 'Java EE 7 new features'. Do you know whether Oracle will strictly enforce this?
I checked with Oracle on this. They gave me the standard reply.
Because of this doubt, I looked at 2 more choices in mandatory training list - which are in the next higher cost slab.
1. Object-Oriented Analysis and Design Using UML
2. Java SE 8 Fundamentals
I have learnt basic UML modelling from the 'UML distilled' book. I wanted to know whether this course is offering any better contents. So I thought of checking the feedback on 'Object-Oriented Analysis and Design Using UML' course before going further.
Hi Sathees,
Going for 'Java EE 7 New Features' is my first priority. If Oracle does not allow me to register for it, then I will go for 'Java SE 8 Fundamentals'.
Sathees, I attended the course 'Java EE 7 New Features'. The course contents were very useful, and I am happy that I attended this course.
Also, this course met my certification requirement.
