Hi there! I've been stuck on a program for a few weeks now and I'm looking for advice! I currently have code completed for what I needed to get done.

However I need to make a separate class extending music which lists an album for a set album, as well as a class extending movie, both giving the information needed. In my main execution I want to do the following:

-Greet the user with a main menu
-Select Movies or Music, then display said menu
-Choose an option, 1. Add a new top movie/album, 2. Display the current top movie/album (Say in this case the top movie is spy, and the top album is selena gomez' revival album) 3. Exit

My current code is the following, I of course still need a main program for execution as well. I'm so happy to become a member of the ranch, and thank you so much for advice ahead of time!

Media Class

Movie Class

Music Class

Welcome to the Ranch!

You're off to a really good start. You have formatted, well-documented code (and you used code tags correctly -- first try!)

Some minor points:

In this situation, where you have a full constructor and a no-arg constructor with defaults, use this() to call one constructor from the other:

Very minor: it's traditional to start javadoc comments with a blank first line:

Now, how to proceed. Start with your first menu option and write out exactly how you would do that. Once you have it explained in English, start thinking about how to do it in Java. Maybe write some pseudocode. Then, and only then, start working on your driver class.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
