Recently i went to interview and i told them about the project i did in Java. The major part of the project was to query local mysql database using JDBC technology.

They asked me what framework do you use to connect to database. What was i suppose to say? And can you help on where i can find source that describe different JAVA FRAMEWORKS.

Not a good interview question; they obviously have a particular answer in mind which might not actually be a framework and when you say JDBC framework with type IV connector they will say you are wrong because they wanted you to say DriverManager class and the interview will start to go wrong.
A framework is a group of classes which together collectively are used for similar purposes. For example, List, ArrayList, Map and HashMap are all parts of the Collections Framework. JTable JPanel JFrame and JOptionPane are all in the Swing GUI framework.

I would have said JDBC or Hibernate, but that's me. JPA is another "good" answer. I think as long as you know something about the different ways to connect to a DB from Java, the answer will work. If they say, "But what about X?" and you don't know X, well, at least you know something about how to connect.
