Hello

I'm Fredy, I'm from Colombia and yesterday I passed my Oracle exam 1Z0-803. I got 86% and I am pretty happy. But now I got a question or more than one indeed.

What should be my next step?

I'm pretty sure that 1Z0-804 should be my next step but What about other certifications at the same level, associate I mean.
Is better to focus in one technology like Java or should I study for others complementary technologies at the same level like PLSQL, WEBLOGIC or even AWS certifications.
I would like to read your expert opinions about this question (s). I will be very grateful for their opinions, and sorry by my broken english... I'm still learning.

Greetings from Colombia.

Congratulations champion! Great achievement Now it's time to relax a bit and have a (well-deserved) (or 2 or 3). And if you want to spoil yourself have a Belgian beer, our beers are the best of the world Don't forget to add your name to the OcajpWallOfFame!

The next and most logical step will be the OCAJP7 certification exam (1Z0-804). I think you should first aim to become an Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 7 (or 8) Programmer. Because although the OCAJP certification exam will improve your Java knowledge (depending on your current experience), its main benefit is mainly that it lets you take the OCPJP7 certification exam. And that's actually the real deal The OCPJP certificatin exam will be much harder than the OCAJP one. And the reason why is very simple: you need to know much more advanced topics (generics, collections, file i/o, nio, threading, concurrency,...) and you need a really in-depth knowledge of all these (advanced) topics.
Once you have become an Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 7 (or 8) Programmer, you can focus on getting certified in other technologies.

On the OcpjpWallOfFame you'll find some stories about the experiences of other ranchers who have passed the OCPJP certification exam. And you'll probably find a lot of useful information in the OcpjpFaq as well. And if you have some doubts or questions, don't be shy and share them in the OCPJP forum.

Hope it helps!
Kind regards,
Roel
