Passed the OCA Java SE7 Programmer 1 (IZ0-803) exam with a 66

I did like two thirds of the chapters in the OCA part of the Bates/Sierra book(OCA/OCP JAVA SE7 Programmer 1 and 2 study guide) ; also read mala gupta book on Java SE 7 preparation for OCA... i progammed like 60-70 programs in netbeans ... idk how to use command line properly so i dont rly use it maybe like 3-4programs ....probably contributed to my poor score....i didnt take any practice exams but i have been on and off with java and other programming languages for 3 years(Im only 18)... advice for OCP anyone im going to need to srsly I am going to try and do much better on OCP... Also should i take these exams during university since my university uses java to teach most computer science courses....???

I'd suggest you get the Enthuwares for both OCA and OCP. They're pretty cheap and they have an explanation for each and every question. Use the OCA ones to see if you missed anything important (weak topics etc), and you can check them out a bit more before moving on. Then, to get better scores on the OCP, prepare from the OCP Enthuwares as well as the great and mighty study guide!

For myself, I have only used these two materials for OCA and the two complete each other perfectly. You get the ideas and concepts from the book, but I really needed the practice the Enthu tests ahve given me. It cleared which areas I'm struggling on, and enforced others. I can only recommend it!
