EDIT: i learned I can use a program called transet that need some tweeks as running xcompmgr at startup.
Anyway, I would still love to install on top of lubuntu some expensive graphic environment, just to have occasionaly some fun

---
The situation
I have a laptop where I have lubuntu. I need it to run Android Studio that takes a lot of resources.

What i need
I am a creative person and sometimes to use a transparency feature while running my programs. in lxce is not an option,
because transparency comes with a resource price.

What I ask
Instead of  taking HD space installing also a different linux version on the disk..
I thought possibly I could just mainting lubuntu on all the disk, and loading every time a different desktop environment.
I remember years ago i did something similar running to init5

what I am afraid
There is the risk that doing this when i come back to run just lubuntu.. a lot of background processes deriving from the other
much more expensive environments will worsen the lubuntu performance( ex. loading on background some other processes, loading
libraries that I do not want to have strictly speaking on lubuntu?

what is the best way to go? Thanks

I resolved splitting the pc with Lubuntu on  the first part of the disk with  transset, on the second partition I put mint, and soon I am going to experiment every kind of fancy things installing virtualbox on my i7 pc.

ps android studio emulator phone is  5 times fastest than on windows
