I'm curious about how to implement (in a launcher, preferably) an infinitely scrolling (vertical and horizontal) surface/ViewGroup which can contain other Views.

For example, please see the scrollable background of the launcher in below video:

Amit,

You are not going to like what I am about to say, but realistically you need to study Java some more so you actually understand what you are seeing in the video.  You are not seeing an infinite scrolling view, nor are you seeing sub views of the main, and the black drop downs are exactly that, they are dropdown menuing items. So what you are seeing are multiple Windows, each independent of the other, which are linked by program logic.

So you have a GUI that has icons, you have Windows--like Frames in a JPanel--and a drop downmenu activated on a click. Nothing more than that as far as I can see.

You'll need to go over to Oracle and pull up the Tutorials along with the Really Big Index and go through things until you understand what each of those things are and how they are interacting in the video.  Have fun.

Les
