Is there a way to check whether the popup is visible or not as shown in the code2 so that this execution is delayed. Welcome to the Ranch, Sudarshan!

We prefer that you tell us when you cross-post a question to other forums. It reduces confusion when lots of people are suggesting answers without everyone knowing what going on.

The "oncomplete" function in your "a" tag refers to the completion time of the click on the link. The "showPopup()" method only shows the dialog, it does not wait for the dialog to complete. So there's no way that you can use the "a" element's oncomplete to do what you want.

The person in the other forum was correct. If you want something to happen when the dialog hides itself, you have to put that code in the dialog's onhide function.
