On one panel I have a JLabel and its accompanying JTextField

If I assign a mnemonic with the JLabel and also assign a 'labelFor' that specifies the JTextField,
the mnemonic works. When the mnemonic is pressed the JTextField has the focus.

On another panel I have a JLabel and its accompanying JEditorString.

If I assign a mnemonic with the JLabel and also assign a 'labelFor' that specifies the JEditorString,
the mnemonic does not work. When the mnemonic is pressed, nothing happens.

Any help to get this working would be appreciated.

JEditorString? That isn't in the standard Java API. So it would be helpful to know where that class came from.

What kind of component is a JEditorString? What is it a subclass of?

The .com website may have been open for business long ago but it is no longer functional
as it relates to its original architects.

Adrian Romero was the chief architect of the POS software.
More relating to their software can be found at this website:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/openbravopos/

In the last five years or so various forks have been created with the software
as many try to capitalize on Romero's initial efforts.
