Will appreciate your early response.
The Problem:
Weblogic - 6.1 SP4
JRE version - 1.3.1_02
No. of Startup classes - 3.
Out of these 3 startup classes, 2 of them are started properly without any error. The third one is not invoked and following message is printed on the server logs.
<Critical> <WebLogicServer> <Failed to invoke startup class "MyStartupClass", java.lang.NullPointerException>
All 3 startup classes are extended from java.lang.Thread class and having a main method that creates the instance of these classes. The constructor of these classes starts a schedules the thread for execution.
The threads run in infinite loop and keep polling certain tables in database.
The classes jar are placed in system classpath.

Observation:
When servers are running with "INFO" mode of logging, the startup class invocation message is printed.
e.g.
<Info> <WebLogicServer> <Invoking MyFirstStartup.main(null)>
This method indicates that the main method of startup class is invoked without any parameter.
In the failed startup class case this message is not printed.
Had someone faced simillar problem ???
Please suggest.

Problem solved with the removal and reconfiguration of startup class.
Only guess, config.xml entry might be corrupt and now it got started.
