Hi,
Can anybody let me know, why an exception is thrown at the deployment moment of the ear file, composing stateless session beans, for which the value of the <initial-beans-in-free-pool> is specified as 1
Exception observed on the console is:
The EJB: XYZ had an <initial-beans-in-free-pool> setting in its weblogic-ejb-jar.xml. An error occurred while creating these initial bean instances. The error was:
Creation of session bean 2000021373254058364694848328081858403372105729 failed javax.ejb.CreateException: x:y:z:common.ACTIVATION_FAILURE: Creation of session bean 2000021373254058364694848328081858403372105729 failed
at x.y.z.application.j2ee.SessionBean_1.ejbCreate(SessionBean_1.java:143)

As u problbly knows when u specify initial-beans-in-free-pool for an ejb in weblogic it'll try to instantiate the bean as soon as possible during deployment, for this the container calls newInstance, sesessionContext and ejbCreate. It looks like u have something happening under ejbCreate method that it's making the creation of the instance impossible to be done. If u write some code here it'll be easyer to help.

hi,
You are exactly correct for the sequence of the operations newInstance, sesessionContext and ejbCreate, when the bean instance is created.
Since these are statelesssession beans, there is nothing mentioned in the ejbCreate method. Its just an empty implementation of the ejbCreate method.
And FYI, I am trying to do this on the solaris machine with weblogic6.1 installed on it. The same ear files are working perfectly fine on the windows environment with same configuration settings.
Thanks,
