Yes, I need to compare fields in one table against fields in another table and write the results into a file in Java.

Ok. So, now we are aware about what you want to accomplish. What have you done so far ?
Do you know the following concepts ?:
  • Java Programming with OOPs
  • Java collections api
  • File IO
  • DB connections handling and querying

  • I have worked with db connections and sql queries.  I have a basic java program that reads one table, but now need to modify the code to read against another tables based on the keys in the first table and write results to a file.

Oh thats good. So, as a first step, you do have a valid code with you to at least fetch the data from the table.
Do you understand the code you have so far ?
Maybe you could post it here and we could help you with it. However, you still haven't answered my previous question about java collections and file io.
