I have to implement single-sign-on using spring security. The authentication is done externally and my application should pre-authenticate that user. As per spring documentation, I just have to ensure that I have put a authentication object in SecurityContextHolder and spring will consider user to be authentication.
My query, for creating the authentication (ie org.springframework.security.core.Authentication implementation), Do I have to necessarily provide both user and password.

Actually I have usernsame only and I have to pre-authenticate it. Is it feasible or I necessarily need to have password also.

Thanks,
Satish
