I am starting my first Java course. They ask me to download J2SE documentation and I did. Where should I place? In which directory?
Thanks!

It doesn't really matter. Just bookmark the location in your browser, and you'll always be able to get at it quickly.

... and welcome to the Ranch
Also bookmark the Java™ Tutorials. Consider bookmarking the Java® Language Specification (=JLS). Beware: the JLS can be very difficult to read. I have all those links open whenever I am on the Ranch.

If you actually downloaded it, then make a new directory and put it there. (Yes, you can access it over the web but if you live in a place where web access is unreliable then downloading it to your system is advantageous.)
