Hi,

We are planning to encrypt data packet between app & db for which we have already configured CERT on DB and we would like to know what config changes needs to be done on Tomcat for application to connect the DB securely.

FYI: We are using tomcat 8 & oracle database.

Since i am starter on tomcat , i would appreciate of some body let me know step by step configuration or else please point me to document.

The ability - or lack of ability - to communicate with a JDBC database is determined solely by the database vendor and driver. Not all DBMS's have this ability.

I don't recall what the current Oracle options are - it's been a while since anyone paid me to do Oracle, but typically the options are coded as part of the JDBC URL.

In some cases, they are supplied as properties, in which case, you'd simple define them as attributes on the Pool definition XML in name/value form.

Check the Oracle docs for more info, and/or ask about Oracle SSL in our Oracle forum. Whatever works in straight JDBC will work in Tomcat.
