Can i decompile a java exe program?  RSS feed

I have a program that is written in java but compiled as an exe. Is it possible to decompile it???

I am no expert, but i'd think you have a tough time ahead.  The .exe would have come from  .jar files, which would have come from  .java files.  So I think you'd need to decompile twice...and it's hard enough reading things that are decompiled once.

Does the EULA (=End-User Licence Agreement) permit decompiling?

Seriously?!?!? ... decompiling is actually allowed? ...

Anyway, since decompiling is allowed, then I highly recommend contacting the company to get the source code instead. This way, you save a ton of time, trying to decompile it. And for the company, I am sure that they would rather see their clients, with clean code rather than the stuff that comes out of decompilers.
