Mala,

Scala being the functional programming from the beginning and the fact that its run time env is  JVM , Java 8 with the new functional features by the avatar of Lambda ,
What would you say some of the compelling reasons that we need to stick with Java if we need to explore the possibilities of doing things functionally?

Do you discuss those kinds of pros and cons ,comparisons with other functional programming language?

Thanks
