Hello to Ranchers & welcome to the aspirants of 1Z0-803,

I just passed my OCAJP SE 7 with 85%. Not a great score though!! I have been seeking for this since long. I went off to my village for peaceful preparation. Been familiar to java it wasn't much tough for me to bring it under belt. Many thanks to my guru, idol, the legend Mr. Hari krishna Sir for guiding and encouraging. Without him this would not be possible. Thank you all Ranchers and Leaders to discuss & solve doubts over here. Since this was my maiden certification experience, I would share my pathway here.

Resources :

1] Mala Gupta Written :
"OCA Java SE 7 Programmer I Certification Guide" is a great book to prepare for this exam. This book brings concepts clean and to the ground for beginners. Covers Exception Handling more elaborately. I liked classic front cover  posters of all Mala Gupta books.

2] K&B Written :
"OCA/OCP Java SE 7 Programmer I & II Study Guide" is another amazing book covers both OCA and OCP exams. precisely lists out the exam objectives & their sequence and fun way of injecting the things is beyond perfect. Their suggestion to make flash cards served well in terms of last hour overlook before exam.

3] Java API Doc :
Needless to say anything about Java API Doc, helped me a lot.

4] Enthuware :
Many thanks to the developers of Enthuware, its a worth product. Also I would thank myself for being part of this forum where I came to know about Enthuware. Nobody would like to appear on real exam without going through mock tests & when it comes Enthuware, it brings even more on the table. Being well known to all it actually toughens up the things and makes you short on time. At the beginning I was cared about the "real exam's unindented code snippet pattern"(somebody told me about that) which made me think about Enthuware should contain that feature to make the code snippet unindented. Thankfully it was not the case with real exam.
I would highly recommend it to one.

My Enthuware Scores (on first attempt) :

Starter test - 82%
Test 1 - 76%
Test 2 - 79%
Test 3 - 90 %
Test 4 - 81%
Test 5 - 93%
Test 6 - 81 %
Last Day Test - 91 %

Overall exam experience was good but still I would like mention few things :

The Test Engine :

> Font :
The font they used to present code snippet and options was same which seem awkward to me.

> Font Size :
Also size of the font looked horrible(too large). I was habituated with the font size that comes on Enthuware in its default settings. so I managed to sit at the distance from screen to make it comfortable.

> Review Button :
I was on the 17th question(complex & time consuming one. ofcourse may vary in your case) when I first used Review button. One silly mistake I did because it was my first experience with it. instead of using 'mark' option I used     Review option & when I came back, it landed me on first question. I then got to scroll up one by one to 18th question and lost time. so i would like to make you aware of it.

> Time slice to switch :
Exam Engine took significant time to switch to next question which seem noticeable, not sure if it was only in my case.

The Testing Centre :

My exam centre was good. They called me and asked to arrive 30 min prior to exam time. Allotted locker to keep my bag. Finished process before exam and took exam comfortably. Everything was fine except I had to clean my erasable pad myself which wasn't clean. I viewed all questions there & myself notified them that my exam is over.

being in this forum, i was known to the extra bit of questions on the real exam that don't contain marks. Also at the beginning testing engine informed me about these promotional questions & I didn't think of rushing to solve them and limited myself for 70 questions. The real exam was easier than Enthuware exams but I went for more strict checking of code which made me fall short on time.

The Certificate Pattern :

I viewed eCertificate on certview, in my personal opinion the old style/pattern of certificate was more beautiful than the new one   (sorry if you don't feel so). Especially that red wax seal looked classic, elixir & prideful.
well how can request Hard copy of my certificate ?

Congratulation Prajyot!!

This is a good score. Your explanations are very useful to others those who are preparing for the exam.

Are you planning to write OCPJP next?
