Hi,

I'm taking the 1Z0-813 upgrade to OCP II for Java 8 exams, because I have the SCJP from 2009. Do I need to prove the prior qualification, will I be asked to bring the certificate or the little card to the exam centre, or do I have to find the vendor, account, email address, etc I used to sit the prior exam?

Thanks, Stephen.

Welcome to the Ranch

In Oracle Certview you should able to confirm whether your SCJP is listed. If it is, you are all set. Exam center won't ask you to prove prior cert.

Thanks Narayana Bojja ... The answer linked is well worth reading. However I'd like to post my *specific* solution in case it might help others.

I fixed the problem myself with a little encouragement from Oracle. On my original SCJP cert from 2009 the 'Candidate' number was of the form:

SR1234567

This is now a valid 'Testing ID', and should be used as such for both Pearson Vue and Oracle CertView.

1) Create a Pearson Vue account, and on the registration page enter 'I already have a testing ID' and use this SR1234567 ID, to avoid getting a new auto-generated one;

2) Create a Certview Account and during the registration process enter this testing ID and the email address from your Pearson Vue account so that the two accounts get linked up.

Now both accounts have the same SR1234567 ID and Oracle CertView has all the old info from 7 years ago ... ah the memories!
