I have cleared Oracle Certified Professional Java Programmer exam (OCPJP). Oracle is giving me some offer for the higher level exam. Shall I take Oracle Certified Web Component Developer (OCEJWCD) or any higher version of Java like OCPJP8(JDK1.8).

Hi Aravind,

Heartily Congratulations   . It's a great achievement . You should have been mentioned for which Java version you cleared OCPJP ?.  I am assuming you cleared OCPJP7 . If I am correct, take a break. Don't write OCPJP 8. Learn Java 8 newly added concepts clearly. Java 9 may release next year. you will have an option to directly upgrade from OCPJP 7 to OCPJP 9 (If Oracle exam patterns doesn't change).

Hope it helps !

Congratulations Aravind Katte !!
You have multiple certificate options for the next level.

Option #1. Study Java SE 8 and take upgrade exam
Option #2. Java EE 6 OCE Certifications (Web Component, EJB, JPA, JSF and Web Services )

The choice is yours.

I'd be shocked if the exam is released next year for what it's worth. Java 9 is scheduled for general availability release in July. Then Oracle has to write and beta test the exam.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
