Hi, I'm a java beginner who wish to find a career in java field. I need to get an oracle certification. So what exam is better 1Z0-803, 1Z0-804 or 1Z0-805 and can someone differentiate 1Z0-804 and 1Z0-804? Plus I need to enter to the field as soon as possible.

The 803 is the OCA 7. "A" stands for associate which means it is an entry level exam. The 804 (OCP 7) has the OCA 7 as a pre-requisite. The 805 (Upgrade exam) has an older cert as a pre-req).

So your choices are really between:
803 - OCA 7
808 - OCA 8
811 - Junior Associate

I strongly recommend not taking the Junior Associate. It's almost as hard as the OCA 7/8 and doesn't serve as a pre-req to the OCP exam if you want to take it later.

Between OCA 7 and OCA 8 either is a viable option. It depends on whether you plan to take a professional exam later and what version of Java you prefer it to be for.

Can you explain why one would choose OCA 7 over the OCA 8? I was assuming that OCA 8 was the place to be because it's the most recent, but your comment has got me scratching my head now!

I'm in a similar situation to starting up with Java. I would like to be hired working with Java starting in March/April. I studied Java SE 5 in college but haven't touched programming in several years. I've been working in javascript and front-end programming since this Spring but think I prefer working in backend processing.

Sorry, I should have elaborated. The reason to choose the OCA 7 is if one already purchased a Java 7 cert study guide and either just wants an OCA 7 cert or wants to take the OCP 7. (again because one already bought a OCP 7 study guide).

Since the original poster specifically mentioned the Java 7 exam numbers, I thought that might be the case. If you haven't bought a book yet, you should definitely take the OCA 8. There are a number of study guides out for it now.
