Greetings, Jonathan, a thank you for your promo. I have a few questions about your book:
1) Chapter  5, Integration  Testing RESTful Web Services - is it the same  as functional testing (testing CRUD actions)?
2)Unit Testing in the Browser with JavaScript  -  is this applicable for most popular frontend JS frameworks only ? And which exactly js frameworks  can be tested?
3)Smoking User Interface Tests - does this topic include information about testing responsive web design (bootstrap)?
4)I'm new to Rails and to web testing - is this book  a good start for me ? My experience is very poor
Thank you for your attention!

Hi Timur,

1) Yes. This is CRUD style testing, but for RESTful web services.
2) It is applicable for pretty much any JS framework. But it doesn't use any particular one. The example we use is just for plain old JavaScript.
3) No sorry - nothing about responsive web design.
4) Yes, I think the book will be a good start for you if you want to get into automated web testing. Rails is just the language. But you don't really need to know it. It's just there because it's tests are easy to read.

Thanks for the question! Good luck.

Timur,

Please start another topic in this forum for your questions. The reasons are two fold ... this topic is reserved for welcoming the author, and posts in this topic is not eligible for the book promotion.

Additionally, I probably would have split this post into another topic for you, but the author already responded.
