Hello ALL:

I passed OCPJP 6 with 86% . I am not very happy about the result. My target was over 95%. Here are some facts about OCPJP 6 exam and my study materials:

Study Materials:
===========
1. KB Books for OCPJP 6: read it 4-5 times and have done all the practice questions 4-5 times
2. Head First Java - as a refresher.
3. Exam Lab- I gave all the exams 3-4 times until I scored over 95%. The questions in the ExamLab mock tests are extra hard and quite useless according to me. You can give the diagnostic tests in ExamLab, but no need to buy extra exams
4. My own notes fro KB Books and ExamLab questions.

All in all, I think the real exam is not as tough as ExamLab questions. It is not even tough as the questions in KB Books. If you read KB books well enough and practice the questions, I believe it is more than enough.
Giving super tough mock tests does not really help. In fact, it may make you spend more than the time necessary for each question during the real exam thinking that there might be some stupid trick- it happened to me as
i spent too much time during the first 40 questions and I took the whole 150 minutes to finish and review all the questions. My suggestions would be to stick to KB books, java specification and just 1 full length test, just so that you can get the
sense of time during real exam.

I hope it helps. My next target would be to pass OCEWCD, OCEWSD , OCEJPA, OCEBCD.

Thanks Narayana.

One more thing to add. the code in the real exam is 10-12 lines big at most. So no need to worry about that. Do not get confused when you see 100 lines of code in mock tests.
Bring a bottle of water if they allow. You will get thirsty and super tired by the end of it.
