Programming Methodology (Stanford)

about 28 parts of 1 hour / 45 min each

very java based, but only saw now they were uploaded in 2008!

was wondering if i should bother with them...or should i seek more current material on the matter

thanks

Not too old. But I think better to pick materials which cover Java 8.  Look at the JavaSE support map here - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/eol-135779.html. Java SE 6, Java SE 7 have no more public updates.

So anything before 2008 would be like Java 6, though Java 6 is I think widely used but its good to learn something that is newer. Java 8 is quite amazing.

OOP generally is language independent. So you look for articles by Uncle Bob Martin on OO Design and we do have a forum of OO Design which is a cool place to hangout

If it is programming methodologies, then it probably isn't critical which version of Java® the lectures use. You may find that programming methodologies does not teach you how to  program.
