Client side load balancer concept

Hi,
Somebody may help me in understanding why we need Client side load balancer when Server side load balancer is there? It may be needed when server side load balancer is not there. In that case, client side load balancer, can connect to specific ones in same geographical area or may be to the online ones since some may be offline.

Do we need it when Server side load balancer already there?
