I'm still messing around with my mods to the example implementation of Conway's Game of Life. It was pretty awesome that I was able to set up command line argument parsing and processing in about ten minutes, including digging around the Go documentation and looking at examples on using the flag package. Icing with a cherry on top is that Go automagically creates usage help based on whatever I did to set up the options:

That's all I had to do to have a rich set of command line options and get the following as well (it's Go-awesome!):

This would have taken me maybe half an hour to an hour to do with Java and Apache CLI, including digging around the API documentation and reading examples plus setting up the build/run configurations and everything.
