Hi All,

I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. I need to create something where users can input data into different fields in a browser (time, date, title, take) and have it appear as text over a full screen graphic. Users should be able to access the fields via a web browser on any machine. The machine with the full screen graphic would be dedicated and on a network.

Any pointers in how I should go about doing this would be much appreciated. I have no experience in this whatsoever. Java?

Thanks in advance

No offence intended but it sounds to me like your work should ask someone appropriately skilled to do this task. Seems unfair to expect a non-programmer to program code. Not really sure how you can expect posters to answer this. Do you even need to use Java? What about some sort of HTML/JavaScript effort?

Hi Paul, well there are web developers at work but I want to learn and this is not something I have been asked to do. The developers at work are very busy and if I ask them they would just say Oh I'll do it in my lunch break for you which is not what I want.

Ok so don't use Java? I just need pointing in the right direction. Which App I should use etc.

Can't you ask the developers at work to teach you during their lunch break, instead of having them build the whole thing?

There are many different ways the app can be implemented, including in Java. The bigger question is, what is your ultimate goal? Is it to build this app, no matter the technology you end up using, or is it to learn how to program in Java and related technologies?
