cannot find symbol public static void main(string[] args){  RSS feed

Hi This is my first program in java. Confused about subject mentioned error i have attach the screen shoot of my error "cannot find symbol public static void main(string[] args){"

Java is case sensitive. The name that's being pointed out should be capitalized.

Wow. When the OP said screenshot, the OP really meant it -- ie. a photograph of the screen... ... More commonly, with Windows, a screenshot is better achieved with Ctrl-PrtScrn. You get a clear photo of the desktop. You don't get the edges of the monitor. You don't get the glare from the glass of the monitor. etc. etc.

You also won't incriminate yourself by revealing that you are using an unauthorized version of Windows.

Hi It is newly formatted system & This is a genuine OS installed but due to urgency i am not able to activate this... Thanks for your input

The warning about unauthorised OS has disappeared. I presume you have sorted your problem out by changing string[] to String[].

hey there, as Java is case Sensitive...
you need to type in correct spelling everytime...

public static void main(String[] args)

here "String" starts with a CAPITAL-S
