Hello,

After passing the OCA exam I'm making my study plan for the OCP. I have a habit of scheduling the exam before I start studying, it helps me stick to my study plan (and rescheduling is of course possible).
For those who know the exam, what would be your best guess regarding how long one should plan to study? I'm aware that the OCP exam has much more material than the OCA exam. Also most of the OCP content are new to me, I'll need to practice each topic. I understand it's just an estimate, I'll adjust if needed, I just need a somewhat realistic rough plan. Any advice for me?

I'm thinking 2-3 as much time as it took you study for the OCA. As you noted there is more material and harder material. And if you are new to it...

I passed with 100% ,i took nearly 1.5 months to study OCP . Depends on you how much time are you going to spend.  I studied nearly 6-7 hrs a day including weekends. Nearly 10 ques were from OCA (Inheritance, Overloading and Overriding). And abt 30-35 on Functinal programming. Not many questions on Date and Time,Localization . But JDBC nearly 6 lengthy questions. IO and Nio questions were not so complicated. So focus more on generics and functional Programming very very important.

Thank you all for your advice. Congratulations Pavithra on passing with 100%, your studying was obviously very thorough. I have scheduled the exam for mid April. I may reschedule if I'm not making enough progress but for now it seems to fit.
