Hi Friends,

I wrote 1Z0-808 yesterday and passed it with 88 percent. Considering my preparation, I am happy with this score.
I would like to share my experience with this exam to help the exam aspirants.

First and foremost, I would like to thank coderanchers to help out directly / indirectly prepare for this exam. Believe me, this is great thing which you/we guys are doing to help each others.

BOOKS
OCA 8 Sybex Guide by Jeanne and Scott

This book was recommended by many successfully folks who have passed this exam so I refered this book only. This book is very easy to read and it explains the concepts point to point. I would also recommends it highly.

MOCK EXAMS
I would give 60 percent weightage to mock tests and 40 to book above. During my preparation, I spent more time to write mock tests and understand the kind of questions being asked and if I am uncomfortable then refer the book again. By doing this, I end up referring the concepts from the book many times which really helps to get good hold of the concept. Below are the mocks I attempted -
1. 3 mocks from the book OCA 8 Sybex Guide by Jeanne and Scott
2. Whizlabs mock test for 1Z0-808
3. Enthuware tests for 1Z0-808

My recommendation will be to go mocks from the book many times and get the understanding clear of each and every question. The actual exam is very similar to the questions asked in this book.
Whizlabs is also good but the site was down many times during my preparation so I was very unhappy about it and also they have few questions from 1Z0-809 which surprised me. Go for it if you have time to want to write more mocks as their quality is good.
Enthuware is highly recommended.  As suggested by many folks, I went for it and it didn't let me down. My scores in the tests were-
Foundation Test - 77
Test 1 - 77
Test 2 - 84
Test 3 - 73
Test 4 - 84
Test 5 - 65
Test 6 - 78
Last Test - 75
Average Enthuware score - 77
1Z0-808 EXAM - 88

So going by the trend, you can expect 10 to 12 percent higher marks in real exam than your overall Enthuware average score.
I more thing which I want to highlight is that the exam had 80 questions not 77 which oracle mentioned so make a note of it.

Good luck for your preparation

Thanks,
Ankit

Well done! How long have you been programming in Java? I'm a sophomore computer science student and I was thinking to take the test this year, do you think is feasible?

It took me 3 months to complete the preparation. I was not regular though. I think preparation varies from person to person.
Yes, you can attempt this exam anytime once you are ready this year.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
