Is there anyone that would be willing to work with me as a mentor/tutor of sorts?
I'm deadset on learning Java (software development) and have been doing a fair amount of work on my own but struggle with some concepts and feel I could greatly benefit from a tutor or mentor.

Currently enrolled in school for a professional degree in Software Design and Programming.
I have found Building Java Programs by Reges and Stepp and the complimentary website Practice-It to be wildly beneficial.  Also, starting to volunteer with Code 4 Social Good.

What I'm asking for is 30 minutes every 1-2 weeks while I put in hours on my own.

Please let me know if there is any interest in the community.  It would be greatly appreciated!

This is exactly what i was thinking about doing, except i was thinking of posting on reddit and search within my local area. I tried a tutor from wyzant website but it was too expensive and not helpful at all.
I'll keep an eye on this post.

Check out the Ranch's Cattle Drive and see if that might be something you'd want to try.

You may find that posting a question here will get you good answers in a timely manner.

How were you thinking of doing the tutoring?  Some sort of video conferencing software?

Duplicating in our Jobs Forum.

How much were you thinking of paying? Or is it the same as I get paid from CodeRanch?

Thanks for the responses!  Someone reached out to me personally so I'm covered.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
