I've googling many times for this topic, but I don't see a clear answer.
We have Apache modules for a lot of languages:
I know there is a mod_java but it's old (JVM 1.6) and buggy.
In Java web development, why don't we rely on a better mod_java instead of Tomcat, Glassfish, JBoss, etc?
Ron McLeod wrote:The mod_java that you referred to is actually a telephony API used to build call processing featurelets (something like SIPServlets - JSR 359) - it is not an extension for Apache.
But can we use some kind of Apache module instead of Tomcat, Glassfish, ... ?
Just like in php?

If you want to use Java, why don't you want to use Tomcat?
