JSP is a view generation technology. So your question doesn't make much sense. Can you give us a broader context as to under what conditions this needs to happen and why?

Or is this a school assignment?

I mean to say, I am entering text in a paragraph and in the next page I need to search for a particular word in the paragraph. If the word is present then I need to increment the counter.

So do you submit the paragraph to the server when you move to the next page?
